Pinterest ditches invitations, opens registration to the site
Pinterest, the service that allows members to "pin" images, videos and other content to their online pinboards, has scapped its invitation-only membership and opened registration to the website.
Previously, anyone who wanted to join Pinterest had to request an invitation on the site and wait to receive it via an email. Now, all potential Pinterest users have to do is go to Pinterest.com to begin using the site.
In addition to letting users sign in with their Facebook or Twitter logins, Pinterest is now also allowing users to sign in
